APPROVAL OF TECH PREP-CAREER PATHWAYS ARTICULATION AGREEMENT WITH ART INSTITUTE OF TAMPA AND THE SUNCOAST CAREER PATHWAYS CONSORTIUM FOR THE 2010-2011 THROUGH THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEARS
Description
In an effort to create a seamless career development system, educational institutions have been encouraged to develop articulation agreements at all feasible levels. The degree of articulation depends upon the area of study involved, requires an in-depth analysis of the curriculum and agreements by all parties as to the credibility of the preliminary course of study. The articulation agreements that are the core of the Career Pathways program afford students the opportunity to earn college or postsecondary credit for courses that are completed as part of their high school program of study. This agreement allows students greater access to postsecondary education through a mutually beneficial partnership between Art Institute of Tampa and the School District of Manatee County, supporting and aligning with the EdVantage core value of lifelong learning and the strategic objective of creating partnerships.
Recommendation
That the Tech Prep-Career Articulation Agreement with Art Institute of Tampa and the Suncoast Career Pathways Consortium for the 2010-2011 through the 2011-2012 school years be approved.
